"Warmer tones, like cashew, reflect light better — which also creates more shine."

Shadow Root Cashew Blonde
Even if your natural hair isn't super dark, this color can still work for you. "Highlight like you would a blonde but add a deeper tone at the root — it's really about the technique here and giving it that natural root look," says Anderson. Lauren Conrad's cashew blonde hair has a more lived-in feel thanks to the dark roots.

Shadow Root Cashew Blonde
Dosso explains the approach she would take to accomplish a color like Rose Byrne's:"Do a full head of highlights, as you normally would," she says. "Once fully processed, apply two glosses. First, do a root shadow — pick a level that is two to three shades deeper than you want the brighter pieces of hair to be." Dosso says she also likes to finish a dye job like this with a "money piece," or bright strips of hair framing the face. "Section those pieces out and apply the shadow only to the roots of the hair. Once the shadow is done processing, rinse a lighter, golden gloss all over."

Winter White
Whether you're embracing your natural color or going for an all-white dye job, know this:A hair color like Helen Mirren's will be everywhere this season. (Anderson fittingly calls it "Winter White.") Now we know what you're thinking:How is this different from the icy platinum blonde also trending this season? The undertones, dear. There's no hint of warmth in the hue — this color is decidedly cool, literally and figuratively.

Winter White
"It's bright, bold, and stunning," Anderson says of this all-white hair color on actor Cynthia Erivo. He adds, "This one is a bit of a process (a bleach and tone is required). Depending on your hair's natural color and texture, this may be a look that requires a transitional period because you don't want to overwhelm or damage your hair." Before committing, be clear on your maintenance needs and if it fits your lifestyle.

Winter White
Lady Gaga delivers no shortage of hair inspo and this moment is one to be celebrated again and again. "When done correctly, winter white looks amazing, but it can be really taxing on your hair," says Anderson. His biggest tip? "You'll need to replenish the moisture." Adding a hair oil to your beauty routine can do just that while also enhancing shine and softening your hair, but, as we mentioned before, make sure that oil is colorless so you don't stain your hair.

Deep Copper
If sepia brown isn't quite the red-tinged tone you're looking for, go all out with a rich deep copper. Isla Fisher's hair color here is just the hue we're talking about — it looks natural but still makes a statement. "We love going warmer with our hair in the winter, as well as deeper," says Dosso. "This is the perfect combination of both of those trends."

Deep Copper
Not gonna lie, we kind of miss this deep, red, coppery color on Zendaya. Thinking about going for this hue? Keep in mind:"Red is known to be the color that fades the fastest but is also one of the hardest to remove," says Dosso. "Consider whether you want to invest in maintenance — I recommend no longer than six weeks between appointments to keep hair as fresh and vibrant as possible."
"Also, consider whether or not you'll want to keep this color beyond the winter. If you're wanting to switch to blonde for spring or summer, it will take some time to get the red completely out of your hair."

Deep Copper
Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch is on the lighter side of deep copper, but that intensity is still there. Dosso says a look like this requires a single process application, then a gloss. "Glossing is a really important factor for redheads because it's necessary to refresh faded-out ends."

Lilac
Purple perhaps isn't the first color that comes to mind when you think of winter, but hear us out. "Cool lavenders and lilac are perfect for winter because it can be that perfect in-between color from winter to spring," explains Brown. Take a close look at model Irene Kim's hair and you'll find that various shades of light purple surely pack a punch.

Lilac
Kylie Jenner's brighter shade of lilac is what pastel dreams are made of. Not sure if you're up to a major hair-color change? Try experimenting with a wig or temporary dyes (if your hair is light enough) to see if you'd like it on yourself, suggests Brown. That way, you can ease into the process without fully committing. These days, there are plenty of color-depositing products you can use, so go wild.

Lilac
Singer Olivia O'Brien went for a more iridescent shade of lilac and we're here for the unicorn hair vibes. Brown offers a tip for once you're in that salon chair:"When speaking to your colorist about this tonality, be sure to listen as to how light your hair would have to be lifted to hit these colors. If you're already blonde, you should be able to get there easier than someone with darker hair." Keeping your hair healthy through this process is of utmost importance. "Make sure that your colorist has the integrity of your hair as their first priority."
