Yellow Nails

Question
I have natural nails that turn yellow after I apply a self bronzer. I wash my hands after I apply the bronzer; however, the nails still yellow. I prefer a natural nail and don't want to have to apply color to them to cover up the yellow. Do you have any suggestions to prevent or hid the yellowing?

Answer
After applying your bronzer, you'll need to immediately wash your hands with soap and water and use a manicure brush or old toothbrush to thoroughly scrub your nails. Make sure you scrub the cuticle and sidewall areas well and underneath the nails too. Otherwise you end up with a clean nail plate and dark marks around the nail! It also helps to scrub your knuckles, so the bronzer doesn't activate in the crevices. I used to use bronzers and self-tanners a LOT, I got really good at this! When you have thoroughly washed and scrubbed you hands, pat them dry and then-- while your hands are still just a tad bit damp, swipe your hand down your am and lightly over the back of your hand. This will blend the bronzer so you don't get a distinct ring at your wrists and look like you were wearing gloves when tanning!
